What does co-op offer you?

Are you eligible?

Co-op is available to undergraduate students in all engineering disciplines at the UBC Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.

Graduate students in a Master of Engineering and Master of Applied Science programs are eligible for co-op.

Students of any citizenship can participate.

Admission is competitive: to be accepted, you must demonstrate strong communication skills, a solid academic foundation and professional maturity.

Co-op staff provide support every step of the way

Co-op staff are here to help you plan your co-op experience and help you develop the skills to get hired. Our services include:

  • Helping you prepare for interviews and presenting yourself professionally
  • Extensive pre-employment training before your first co-op work term
  • Continued training as needed during your entire co-op career
  • Ongoing support during your co-op work terms, including help resolving workplace issues
  • Exclusive access to job postings on the PD Portal, the recruitment system for UBC Engineering Co-op students and employers
  • Access to telephone and meeting room facilities for interviews and access to scanner for your job search
