Junior Student Reception January 30th, 2019 5:00PM – 7:30PM February 5th, 2019 5:00PM – 7:00PM
Senior Student Reception October 2019 TBA

This year we have accepted over 700 new UBC Engineering students into the co-op program, and we would like to invite you to help us formally welcome them!

Early in the New Year we will be hosting our annual Junior Reception networking events at both the UBC Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Our Junior Receptions are an excellent opportunity for co-op employers to connect with our newest Engineering Co-op student talent and to identify candidates for future recruitment. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about co-op employers while working to develop their professional networks.

Please consider attending one or both receptions held at UBC’s Vancouver and Kelowna campuses. Full details and registration links are below.

When: January 30th from 5:00PM – 7:30PM
Venue: Life Sciences Institute, West Atrium
Address: 2350 Health Sciences Mall, UBC, Vancouver, BC

The Vancouver campus event will be an open networking function. As such, the event is limited to 50 high top round tables (16”) where we will display your organization’s name. Students will have the opportunity to network between tables throughout the evening. Registration is first come, first served and there is no cost to attend.

When: February 5th, 2019 from 5pm – 7pm
Venue: University Center Ballroom, UNC Ballroom
Address: 3272 University Way, UBC Okanagan Campus, Kelowna, BC

The Okanagan campus event will be a group-based speed networking style event. For this type of event, students do not meet employers individually, but rather are assigned to a sequence of tables. Students will rotate amongst the tables, spending about 15 minutes with each employer. There is no cost to attend

Registration for the UBC Okanagan reception is now closed. Should you wish to join our waitlist, please connect Jennifer Syrnyk at

The success of these events would not be possible without the support of our Engineering Co-op employers. We would be extremely grateful if representatives from your organization would be able to attend. Our goal is to provide a mutually beneficial event for both students and employers, and we hope you will come welcome our newest cohort of Engineering Co-op students to our program. Should you have any questions about the event, please email Jennifer Syrnyk, Manager of Business Development at
